Hi there, this is my first time here! I have a question regarding the EgisUpdate Release Application (on a Windows 7 computer). Today I got a notification from the EgisTec Updater, telling me there's a new update available: Acer Updater.
I checked the box, and installed Acer Updater without any troubles. Yet after 5 minutes, EgisTec Updater notified me again about Acer Updater. When I wanted to install it again, it told me I already installed Acer Updater (which is true). Everytime I close the EgisTec window it keeps popping up every 5 minutes, still notifying me about Acer Updater. I turned off the notifications from EgisTec, but it still bothers me that I can't see any notifications.

I had this same issue today too. I have restarted the laptop but still get the notifications. The update (for me at least) is for the Acer Updater Agent, used for updating drivers and Bios patches and any compatibility fixes, so it is a legit program to be running (what benefits it brings are minimal though.). It's probably an issue with their update service, hopefully there will be another update in the next couple of days to fix whatever this little bug is. Though anoyingly, I am having exactly the same issue with MS Live Essentials repeatedly pestering for updates which have already been done, that's another matter though:-s.
EgisTec appears to be an Acer bloat (software you don't really need). On my Acer desktop I got rid of ALL the Acer packages, Acer updater, games, etal. Imaged the system when it was running how I wanted. All well now. Certainly the Acer updater is a pretty useless bit of kit. ( Acer Updater Agent ) Another way is to open msconfig and just stop the rubbish starting as coolkid suggested above.but I prefer to get rid of it completely.
