To use the worry-free backup battery, get a 9V battery. Then look for the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Press the tab with your thumb and then lift the cover out and away. Plug in the battery and then replace the cover. Press Wake Time once and use the forward/reverse buttons to set the alarm time. Then press Wake Mode repeatedly to toggle between the options of wake to radio, wake to CD, or wake to alarm. (Note the radio must be tuned to your desired station and a CD needs to be in the player for these to work).
